is no longer in the now. The only way we can feel as if something is in the now is when we remember it. Then when our memory brings it to the present, our body responds with the same feeling as if it were actually happening.
There is no way that old memories can have any power over us unless we keep them in our minds. When we remember something that was done to us in the past, we are filling our now up with yesterday. We cannot be in the now. It is important that we let go of the memories that make us unhappy so that we can be fully here now! ~~~~~by Ruth Fishel |
